DISPATCH AND PAY

Do I need to own my own trailer?

No, New Waverly Transportation has a trailer lease program available for all owner operators (o/o).

Where does New Waverly Transportation load to?

NWT has various shipping locations throughout the Southeast, Midwest, Lower Atlantic and Central Atlantic regions.

How does NWT dispatch?

All trucks are equipped with iPad tablets with access to NWT’s Mobile Dispatch App. All load information can be found through the app. In addition, each owner operator (o/o) is assigned to a personal driver manager for one-on-one load discussion and dispatch assistance.

How do I send in my paperwork?

All paperwork is uploaded through NWT’s Mobile App on the iPad tablet.

How much does New Waverly Transportation pay?

NWT pays 88% of line haul, plus 100% fuel surcharge.

When do I get paid and in what method?

All settlements are paid via ACH direct deposit on Friday.

Who pays for tolls?

New Waverly Transportation owner operators (o/o) pay for their own tolls with the exception of some service areas that are paid for by the customer. NWT highly recommends the use of Easy Pass.

Who pays for scales?

New Waverly Transportation owner operators (o/o) pay for their own scales.

Who pays for OD permits?

New Waverly Transportation owner operators (o/o) pay for their own OD permits.

Do I have to tarp my loads?

Yes, some loads require tarping.

Do I get paid to tarp?

Yes, NWT contract and spot rates are set with tarp included.

How much is tarp pay?

On average, $50 is included in the rate for tarping.

What will I haul?

The majority of NWT’s freight is building material. In addition, New Waverly Transportation owner operators  (o/o) haul iron, steel, pipe and other miscellaneous material.

What if I want to run my own authority?

You must run under NWT’s authority while leased on to NWT.

 

ORIENTATION

How long is orientation?

New Waverly Transportation’s orientation usually last about a half of a day, 5-6 hours typically. About 90% of orientation is done online.

Is orientation paid?

No

What do I need to bring to orientation?

When attending orientation, please bring NWT application, valid CDL, Social Security card, current medical card, tractor registration, current DOT annual inspection on both tractor and trailer.

 

PLATES AND INSURANCE

Do I have to run New Waverly Transportation plates?

No, New Waverly Transportation owner operator (o/o) can run their own plates, but NWT does offer plates if needed.

GENERAL

What is New Waverly Transportation pet policy?

New Waverly Transportation does not have a pet policy. Bring your pets. We love animals!

Does New Waverly Transportation allow passengers?

Yes, New Waverly Transportation allows passengers with a rider insurance premium paid. Owner operator (o/o) should always be mindful of customer policies regarding passengers when loading/unloading at certain facilities.

Does New Waverly Transportation require E-logs?

Yes, New Waverly Transportation requires E-logs.

Does New Waverly Transportation offer fuel discounts?

Yes. Paid 100% to the truck with saving locations at: TA/Petro, Pilot/Flying J, AmBest Locations, Speedway, Loves, Independent locations through the United States.

Does New Waverly Transportation have any company trucks?

No, New Waverly Transportation is 100% owner operators (o/o).

Can I call another contractor for help or questions?

Yes, our owner operators (o/o) are always happy and willing to help and speak to new potential contractors.

Does New Waverly Transportation offer CDL training?

No, New Waverly Transportation does not offer any CDL training courses.

Does New Waverly Transportation offer a Flatbed training program?

No, New Waverly Transportation does not offer a Flatbed training program at this time.

Does New Waverly Transportation require a TWIC card?

New Waverly Transportation does not require TWIC cards, but does recommend them in certain shipping areas.

Does New Waverly Transportation offer yearly bonuses?

New Waverly Transportation offers a yearly Safety Bonus and Safety Award if safety criteria is met.

Is there a dress code?

No, New Waverly Transportation does not have an official dress code policy, but we request that each owner operator (o/o) present him/herself in a professional manner and appearance at all times when representing NWT.
